About the Position

We’re looking for a dedicated, organized Housekeeping Coordinator to support the smooth functioning of daily life at Hridaya France!

The Housekeeping Coordinator plays an important role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for retreat participants, residents, and the wider community. Working closely with the Operations Manager and the housekeeping team, the coordinator helps ensure shared spaces, accommodations, and facilities are cared for with attention, consistency, and respect.

This role combines practical, hands-on work with team coordination, organization, and a spirit of service. It offers an opportunity to contribute to the daily functioning of our center while integrating the principles of Karma Yoga into everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities

The coordinator oversees all housekeeping operations at Hridaya France. This includes scheduling the team, training new Karma Yogis, managing linen and supplies, preparing for retreats, events, and check-in/checkout days, and ensuring day-to-day tasks are managed effectively. The role works closely with other teams to keep operations smooth and projects on track.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the Housekeeping Team: Organizing daily tasks, clarifying priorities, and supporting team members in carrying out their responsibilities effectively.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order: Ensuring that accommodation, bathrooms, communal areas, and other designated spaces are clean, tidy, and welcoming.
  • Preparing for retreats and events: Coordinating housekeeping tasks before, during, and after retreats, workshops, modules, and trainings, according to the needs of the center.
  • Managing supplies and equipment: Monitoring cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are available, properly stored, and used responsibly.
  • Organizing daily workflows: Planning and prioritizing housekeeping tasks in coordination with the Operations Manager and other departments.
  • Supporting communication and teamwork: Maintaining clear communication within the housekeeping team and collaborating with other departments to respond to the needs of the center.
  • Maintaining standards and procedures: Helping ensure consistent cleaning practices, attention to detail, and the respectful care of shared spaces and facilities.
  • Contributing to community life: Supporting a clean, harmonious, and welcoming environment through a practical, hands-on approach and a spirit of service.
Qualifications

While serving at our centers and working with others, it’s essential to cultivate the Karma Yoga spirit, consciously integrating daily responsibilities into spiritual practice.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality, ideally in a retreat center, hotel, or residential community.
  • Experience coordinating a team, organizing daily tasks, or supervising housekeeping activities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • The ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic retreat center.
  • Care for shared spaces and a commitment to maintaining a clean, welcoming, and harmonious environment.
  • Alignment with Hridaya’s values and teaching principles.
  • Fluency in English; French is a strong asset.
  • The legal right to live and work in France.

Do you feel called to contribute your skills to this position? We’d love to hear from you!

Serving With Us Means:
  • Working and growing in a conscious environment that encourages continuous Self-Inquiry and offers a non-dogmatic approach.
  • Receiving a supportive benefits package, including on-site meals—the exact salary and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Participating in silent meditation retreats, yoga modules, workshops, and more.
  • You’ll always be encouraged to move towards authentic individual expression, with the opportunity for service-based leadership and personal growth.
  • Being part of a growing global spiritual community that hosts 100-120 people at a time.
