Hridaya Mexico: Participant Agreement for a Safe and Respectful Environment

At Hridaya Yoga Mexico, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for spiritual practice. By participating in our classes, retreats, workshops, or online activities, you agree to help uphold this shared environment.

This agreement is offered not as a set of rules, but as a shared commitment to protect the integrity of the practice and the well-being of everyone in the community. However, if your actions are harmful or disruptive to this environment, you may be asked to leave.

Important Points
  1. Participants agree to treat others with respect, kindness, and consideration, and to refrain from discrimination, intimidation, harassment, bullying, or any form of abusive behavior.
  2. Participants are asked to practice common sense regarding others’ physical, emotional, and personal boundaries.
  3. Participants understand that sexual misconduct, harassment, abuse of authority, or boundary violations are not tolerated. Consent for physical intimacy must be clear, freely given, ongoing, and may be withdrawn at any time.
  4. Participants agree to dress in a way that is appropriate for a shared space, respecting local customs around modesty and understanding that public nudity is not permitted at the Center. We are grateful for your care in honoring the culture of the community that welcomes us.
  5. Participants agree to respect the privacy of others. This means not sharing another person’s personal information, experiences, images, or recordings without their explicit permission and, where appropriate, prior authorization from Hridaya.
  6. Participants understand that taking photographs or recording audio or video of classes is not permitted without the explicit consent of all parties involved and prior authorization from Hridaya.
  7. Participants are asked to keep practice spaces clean and orderly, and to respect personal belongings and center property. Mats, cushions, and other supplies may not be removed from the halls for use outside or in our accommodations.
  8. Additionally, participants are asked to respect Hridaya property and to use shared items only in their designated areas. Mats, cushions, cups, mugs, bowls, cutlery, and other supplies and equipment may not be removed from the Center or taken to off-site accommodations.
  9. Participants understand that the use of candles and incense is not allowed in our accommodations. During activities in yoga halls and elsewhere at the center, teachers and staff members may light candles, oil lamps, and incense, but we ask participants to refrain from doing so without prior authorization.
  10. Participants are asked to help us conserve resources by being mindful of their water and electricity use. This includes taking short showers and turning off lights, fans, and, if applicable, air conditioning units when not in use.
  11. Participants agree not to bring alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, plant medicine, or mind-altering substances to the Hridaya Center. We recommend refraining from all such substances for the duration of participation in our programs. If a participant comes to the Center under the influence of alcohol or another intoxicating substance, Hridaya may ask them to leave and may restrict their ongoing enrollment.
  12. Hridaya practices may involve deep emotional processes, but participation is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. Participants are encouraged to seek support from a qualified professional when needed.
