Merry Christmas!

It’s easy to see God in a baby’s eyes. A shining, smiling newborn creature without a single care or contraction, completely fresh and transparent. So sweet and beautiful, and impossible not to love!

Can we see all our fellow human beings in the same way?

Jesus Christ was born in humble circumstances, to a family of simple, ordinary people who happened to have contact with something far beyond the ordinary. From this, we can recognize that Christ can be born anywhere, at any time, and as anyone. To see Infinity shining through the eyes of everyone you meet—this is a true miracle.

The birth of Christ ushered in a new era for humankind.

When violence and fear dominate the news channels, it’s easy to feel that as an individual, just one tiny drop in the ocean, there’s nothing we can do to help this sad, fading world. It’s easy to feel that nothing we do matters, that there is no hope.

The message of Christ says otherwise.

We are now in need of a global paradigm shift; this much is clear. Humanity must change its ways if we want to survive and for this planet to remain habitable. But this change will not come from any law or external reorganization. The problem is deeper than that, and the solution also must go deeper.

We must learn to live from the Heart, to love each other, and love the world we live in. There is no other way. Learning to love each other without exception and without conditions. This is what Christ taught (and not only him, but all of the mystics), and he showed with his life that it is possible.

Any human being can walk in the path of Christ. “Come, follow Me,” he says often in the Gospels, and this might be the only teaching that is needed. The invitation is always there, to live and perceive the world in a new way. Faith, love, and humbleness. From here, it all starts.
