Open to the Door to Solitude
To taste the sweetness of solitude you need a heart open to mystery. Perfect solitude dissolves any idea of “other” and can be only revealed in non-duality. Loneliness is the pain of missing another, solitude is a love story with God. What initially seemed just an inward withdrawal is shown to be an annihilation of any separation between the inner and outer domains.
Meditation retreats are a form of solitude—we seclude ourselves when we feel an intense longing for the Heart.
Solitude is not passive. To follow it, we feel the necessity for discipline, sobriety, and authentic dedication.
Solitude is a conscious abandonment into the unlimited unknown “land” of our inner universe. In the beginning, solitude can feel frightening because we leave what is known and open to the sacred infinity that dwells within us. But, eventually, any sense of separation dissolves into Oneness, which is the very coronation of solitude.
We can open the door to solitude at any moment. There are no limits, rules, or forms that tell us we are allowed to begin this intimate journey. All that is required is the courage to fall in love with Who We Really Are.
