Heart Space Yoga

Tamara is an exuberant, joyful Hridaya teacher who has been sharing the teachings of the Spiritual Heart for over three years in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia (about two hours north of Sydney). We interviewed her about her activities and aspirations.

Where do you teach?

I teach Hridaya Yoga out of a community-based studio call Yoga for All, which is all by donation. The student chooses how much they will exchange for the class.

What ongoing courses and activities do you offer?

Weekly drop-in classes and ongoing 6-week Hridaya Meditation courses.

Do you have any interesting upcoming events?

A 3-Day New Year’s Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreat Yoga starting December 30th, 2016.
My partner Matt and I also offer Vibrational Sound and the Heart, a fusion of hatha yoga and sound.

What is special about your branch?

Heart Space is a service and a commitment to the Heart, for the Heart. I am deeply committed to teaching Hridaya Yoga here in Australia as a form of yoga that stabilizes us in the Stillness. The power of the Hridaya teachings is incredibly beautiful and potent amongst the distraction and busy-ness of people’s lives. There is an abundance of physical yoga practices in the local city so offering Hridaya Hatha Yoga is a bridge between meditation and a physical practice. The sacredness of even just one or two hours is enough to remind people, even just for a glimpse of who they really are.

Is there anything else you would like people to know about your center?

You can find me at www.heartspaceyoga.com.au. I would love to hear from you and share with you, because, ultimately, we are all walking each other home…
