Hridaya Yoga Newsletter

December 2016

Happy Holidays from Mexico!

We hope this message finds you well and reveling in the beauty of this special season. As Sahajananda reminds us:

“Christmas—something very old that manifests itself as something fresh. In this consists the glory of any perception. It is like Rumi’s beloved friend Shams of Tabriz, whose gaze ‘was never cast upon some fleeting object without rendering it eternal.’”

We invite you to connect with the eternal Heart by joining us for synchronized meditations on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. From wherever we are in the world, we can meet in meditation, celebrating these sacred moments by resting in the Stillness of our Real Nature. Sahaja will lead these meditations from 11:30 pm-12:30 am Bucharest time (GMT +2 hours) / 3:30-4:30 pm Mazunte time (GMT -6 hours) on the 24th of December and from 11:30 pm-1:00 am on both Bucharest and Mazunte times on the 31st of December. Join us!

Update from the Hridaya Center

Our home in Mazunte continues to buzz with activity and aspiration. In addition to our regular program, our offerings have expanded to include 3-Day Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreats in Spanish, Hridaya Yoga Retreat: Module 5, afternoon drop-in classes, and evening meditations. As our community grows, there are more opportunities to serve—we are currently seeking a Graphic Designer. If you are inspired to help, please get in touch.

Tantra Is Bliss

Last week, a large and beautiful group gathered for Antoaneta’s Tantra Is Bliss workshop—the participants’ aspiration was palpable! Through meditations, individual and partner practices, and rituals, they explored the art of Tantric intimacy, revealing its potential to support spiritual transformation. Our workshop series continues in February, when we will offer Cultivating Compassion with Nicholas and the Art of Awareness with Sahaja.

Congratulations New Teachers

The 2016 Hridaya Teacher Training Course came to a joyful conclusion on December 10th. After twelve weeks of intensive study and practice, our new teachers emerged glowing, grateful, and deeply touched by the experience. Apply now for 2017!

I Am Shiva!

Sahajananda’s evocative rendition of beloved sage Shankaracharya’s poem Nirvana Shatkam brings back echoes of the stillness of the 10-Day Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreat. Check out this new video and rejoice in the feeling of Oneness.
