Born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu in Albania, Mother Teresa (1910-1997) was a Christian nun who, out of love for God and humanity, dedicated her life to serving others. She is an excellent example of a real karma yogi. She served out of faithfulness, in spontaneity and surrender. About her prayers, she said: “I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness…” For her, what mattered was to stay faithful. Mother Teresa often expressed the state of spiritual poverty: “I don’t claim anything of the work. It’s His work. I am a little pencil in His Hand. That is all. He does the thinking. He does the writing. The pencil has nothing to do with it.”
