Se deriva de la ra\u00edz <i>bhaj<\/i>, que significa &#8220;participar o implicarse en&#8221; y denota un &#8220;compromiso y devoci\u00f3n amorosos&#8221;. <i>Bhakti <\/i>generalmente se traduce como &#8220;devoci\u00f3n&#8221; y se entiende como la adoraci\u00f3n humana a lo Divino. Sin embargo, el t\u00e9rmino s\u00e1nscrito <i>bhakti <\/i>expresa con mayor precisi\u00f3n un amor mutuo: es la intimidad del amor compartido. Esto significa amar incondicionalmente a lo Divino y poner nuestra fe en Dios. Las discusiones de Krishna con Arjuna en el texto sagrado de la <i>Bhagavad Gita <\/i>ejemplifican este camino. En la <i>Gita <\/i>se afirma que la liberaci\u00f3n puede suceder sin devoci\u00f3n si practicamos el desapego, es decir, estar en el mundo pero no apegados a \u00e9l. La liberaci\u00f3n accesible a trav\u00e9s de la devoci\u00f3n es de tipo superior.
