Hridaya Yoga Newsletter April 2014
“There is a morning inside you waiting to burst open into Light.”
Beloved Hridaya Sangha,
Greetings from our home in Mazunte, where the temperatures keep rising and the fire of the Heart keeps burning bright.
Some Springtime Advice
In meditation, listen to the songs of birds with your Heart. With Open Attention, explore the countless nuances of your soul revealed in their trills.
In this listening, joy and suffering bring the same fire and inner purification. Emotions and wounds cease to be personal stories, they reverberate in universal longings. They become the tenderness of the void…
When your Tremor of the Heart conquers time, this is eternity.
An Inspiring Season
This season has seen a flowering of the community here at the Hridaya Center. Many students have been moved to extend their stays to enable them to go deeper in the practice of living with an Open Heart and several have become so committed to the Hridaya teachings that they have enrolled in the 2014 Hridaya Meditation and Yoga Teacher Training Course. This outpouring of interest means the course is now full, with spaces only available on the waiting list. We do generally end up admitting a few people from the list so don’t delay if you are considering applying for this transformational course!
The sharing session after the recent 17-day silent meditation retreat proved especially influential, as the glowing participants of the 49-Day Prathyabhijna Self-Recognition Retreat added their wisdom, insight, and joyful presence. Their experiences encouraged many people to try a longer period of Stillness and applications have already started arriving for our upcoming 49-day retreats. The next one will begin in October; contact us for more information.
Last month we unveiled the Hridaya Intensive Yoga Retreat: Module 1 and, as expected, it has proven to be a powerful course. In addition to enjoying twice-daily hatha yoga classes, new students, experienced students, and Hridaya teachers gathered late into the evening to savor Sahaja’s exhilarating lectures. The written materials that accompany the course provide a wealth of esoteric yogic information, and were a labor of love from a team of dedicated karma yogis. The response to the course has been so positive that we are planning to launch Module 2 in October.
Our workshop series continues to offer inspiration and insight. Claud introduced From Pain to Peace, a workshop on transforming suffering into spiritual awareness, and the feedback was so enthusiastic we have decided to offer it again in May. Antoaneta presented Practical Tantra to an eager group, and Kilian and Alejandra will be presenting a 3-day Yoga and Meditation workshop in Spanish over Easter weekend.
Although our main season is soon coming to a close, we will be offering Module 1, 10-Day Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreats, and monthly workshops all summer long. The quieter season is a great time to visit us and revel in the intimacy that it brings. For a complete course schedule, check out our website calendar, now with online booking capability!
Our newly redesigned website features a blog that offers interesting articles on yogic theory and lifestyle. If you would like to submit an article for our blog, please contact us.
Hridaya has also recently been profiled in spotlight articles on both BookYogaRetreats and SeekRetreat.
Sahaja’s International Tour
Sahaja will soon be heading to Europe after a productive season in Mexico. Don’t miss the chance to join him in a meditation retreat during his 6-country summer tour, which will bring him to Israel, Hungary, Germany, England, the Netherlands, and Romania. Visit his calendar for complete details and booking information.
